I started my career in IT as a helpdesk analyst at Verizon information Systems 10 years ago. It was quite a transition for me after being a manager in the Lawn Care business for 14 years.  It all started when a friend of mine that lives in Massachusetts recommended to me that I take some classes and that IT is “where its at!!” .  So after a few years of thinking about it I finally decided to take a basic class to get my CompTia A+ Certification and from the first day of class I have been hooked on technology.

Since that time and my first job at Verizon I have worked at IBM/ Lotus where I achieved the highest ranking of IBM/Lotus software certifications.

CLA/CLS/CLP these are all certifications for Lotus Domino Database and system administration.  These have all since been retired and renamed to something that fits the IBM structure. After my team and 1200 others were laid off at IBM I worked for the Boston Herald where I advanced my career and skills in hardware, server, software and networking support, as a Desktop Support Engineer. And since then I have moved on to the University of Maine where I currently manage 200+ desktop computers, laptops, handheld devices, plus or minus 15 servers and of course networking support for them all.

I truly love what I do and look forward to the challenges that my career brings me everyday. Challenges, I think, help to keep you sharp and focused on delivering the best possible customer service and support, and drive you to stay on top of all the new advances in technology so you are prepared for the future.

On a personal note, outside work I live to play GOLF, and pretty much anything revolving around being outdoors in Maine, camping, fishing, hiking etc.
